The Parent Zone is where UH GEAR UP parents can find the latest information about their children's progress in various UH GEAR UP programs, information about what UH GEAR UP can do for your child, and you can also connect with other UH GEAR UP parents. Parents can check back right here at the Parent Zone for information on upcoming UH GEAR UP family events, access to your child's UH GEAR UP program grades and online coursework. You will also be able to connect with fellow parents, whether it's to arrange carpools to family events, or just to "talk stories" about your kids and their "road to college." |
Ilokano and Samoan language courses offer students the opportunity to develop complex and high-level language skills in their heritage languages. English and study skills courses allow for life long learning of English speaking, reading, writing, and computer technology skills through training students in analyzing the purposes and uses of language. These courses aim to enhance students’ self-esteem by changing the common view that heritage languages and cultures are problems to an orientation in which home languages and cultures are valued as resources of great academic and social value.
